Growing By Getting Young!

A big part of growth and evolution in any community is it's ability to encourage others to join in the activities and become stronger in their chosen craft/hobby.
 
We hear from a large number of dancers that our example is appreciated. More important, we see and hear that the attitude of support and sharing rubs off and becomes part of the culture of South Florida WCS.
 
Goldcoast Ballroom is our second home and we love the friendly atmosphere and accomodation of all dances and dancers. We all have our favorites, but dance is meant to be expressive at a personal level and each type of dance fits certain individuals. Celebrating that diversity is just as important as enjoying your preferential style.
 
Whenever our schedule allows, we take part in other dances around the area. Beth and I have become more involved in charity work and will continue to expand that committment as time allows. Our youth scholarship has received a lot of great feedback and pledges of additional support. We are seeing young candidates making their way into the ranks of our dancing community and are excited to see everyone supporting their efforts to become strong dancers and people that will make us all proud in the years to come. Additional efforts by Renee Lippman and Tommy Gibb in the Tampa area has produced classes for youth dancers, so the return to our communities are shared by great people around Florida like Renee and Tommy!
 
As I commented last week, Other areas are showing signs of building vibrant communities in WCS. We've seen great strides in Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville to name a few. Lesser known areas such as Sarasota and Tallahassee are beginning to make themselves felt on the Floida scene. Small town communities such as the Melbourne/Palm Bay/Stuart area are working with the areas close to them. That networking is allowing our dance community to reach pockets of dancers we couldn't begin to support in the past. For areas that I didn't mention, please do not take it as a slight. I would love to hear from you and pass on your efforts as well.
 
Jordan and Tatiana have been staunch supporters and have become regular visitors. We have teamed with Goldcoast many times over the last 5 years to bring this quality opportunity to our friends and neighbors. Other leaders in our community have worked in some of these events as well and the shared experiences are good for all.
 
So, make your plans and come support the drive to make this a bigger, better village for all. We will appreciate it, but more importantly, your support brings better times to all of us.
