Florida Dance Magic We put together 15 years of excitement, fun and eductaion in dancing. We have passed the event on to April Prince, Robert Cordoba and Robin Landry with high hopes that they build on the reputation of FDM as an International, Premier event for West Coast Swing.
Goldcoast Ballroom The best dance facility in existence. Bruce always says that if they put a shower in the bathroom, he'd have to pay rent! Goldcoast features a warm environment with a huge dance floor. Jeff and Vinny are the owners and have invested much time and love on their creation. Come experience a great sound system and a different dance practically every night. The schedule includes many group classes and you have access to some of the best instructors in South Florida here. DanSynergy, along with Goldcoast have hosted many workshop weekends with national level instructors in all dance disciplines. Many incredible talents have visited Goldcoast, including Benji Schwimmer and Heidi Grosskreutz (in photo with Jeff and Vinny to right), Karina Smirnoff and Tony Dovolani.
Keith Little Photography A friend and fellow dancer, Keith brings another element to his community. Check out his Facebook page for more info and to see some of his work!
NASDE National Association Of Swing Dance Events is the current recognized circuit for WCS events. At this writing, there are 12 events that are part of the NASDE circuit. These events span the entire calendar year with a rich and storied history of dancing for pros and the average dancer alike. Bruce and Beth highly recommend planning a weekend to experience WCS in its current form at these and many events around the country. NASDE pays prizes to the top performing pros in their events with a point system that keeps track of their standings on this site.
World Swing Dance Council The World Swing Dance Council was formed to create a central location for information about the dance and events around the nation that feature WCS. The site also includes the Points Registry, which is a system used by many events to track progress through the various levels of competitors in Jack & Jill contests. This attempts to level the playing field for all. Also on this list is a comprehensive list of events around the country both large and small. The WSDC also has built a rules framework that many organizers use for many of their contests. This is a great place for dancers looking to take on some contests at events.
USA Swing Dance Network USA Swing Dance Network is another site with a lot of info geared toward the dance community. First, it features some 20+ events with links to sites that give specific info on those events such as schedule, hotel info and more. They also include information and articles on the current TV shows and movies that feature dance. At the bottom of the main page, you can find many articles and lists regarding West Coast Swing. Among those items are lists from DJ's from around the country feauring current hot WCS tunes and even lists of classic songs!
